I dont know
:irked: My two texas cichlids act like a couple and the female also shows breeding colors she turns completely white with black but they never breed. The male and the female follow each other around and sometimes lock jaws. I dont know what the problem is. I gave the fish live earth worms and did a 40 percent water change but nothing happened.

Give it time........The best sure way of breeding a pair is seperating the pair.....Take all the decorations out.........Leave a medium to large clay flowering pot inside the tank...Lay the pot on its side......If this is a true breeding pair, the pair will spawn within a month......

Okay I took out all the other fish just male and female. I put a hug white pvc pipe in the aquarium and did another water change. The female is no longer black again. I fed the fish earthworms but the female doesnt get to eat any because the greedy male eats them all lol. Still need more advice if their any kind of help you can give, any is appreciated!
