i have 2 discus that i bought about 2 weeks ago inside a 45 gallon tank with some cardinal tetras, and i have never seen the discus fish eat yet. i am getting worried if they are sick or getting parasites? can someone help me please.

What are you trying to feed them? How big are the fish? What is the temp. of the water? When was the last time you did a water change? Have you done a water change? Why do you only have 2? Did you know discus are social creatures that live in groups, not 2 fish? Do you have a picture of these fish? Do you realize it's hard to find your problem without all the facts?

I'm feeding them tetra color tropical granules, but today i put in frozen bloodworms and they ate a few. The fish are about 3 inches i think?
The temperature is around 84. I did a water change yesterday. I only have 2 because the fish store i went to only had 1 type and i wanted a variety of different colors, so i am waiting for new stock to get to the fish store.
and i dont have any pictures right now. but most of the time the discus' fins are folded up and they hide together behind driftwood

I would do 50% water changes every day with aged water at 84 degrees. Keep trying to feed them blood worms. Sounds like they are very nervous since there are only 2.

I would NOT resort to any meds, good water and good food is going to be the best way to help them out. And if they are nervous don't stand by the tank to watch them eat.

I agree. I would even bump the temp. up to 86 degrees to speed up metabolism. Keep the water clean for sure. Degraded water quality leads to weakened immune systems when the fish are under stress, and this leads to disease. I'm sure that with only two discus, they are nervous. This is unnatural to them, and adds to the stress even more.
