Congratulations and good luck! - great looking tiger Oscars.
Thanks mate were see how we go,the perents seem to be doing alright so leave them to it I rekon
Brings back fond memories. You should have fun with your Oscars, just don't let them run you out of the house.
We're see if the survive, I only bought them because we moved and I sold everything of I , redone tank and took my then 1 year old daughter to pet shop and she chose them when they were about an inch and a half long, so we called them Sid and Nancy ,it was my daughter now 3 saw the eggs first she said dad Sid has done white poo

Grats. most aquarium oscar keepers do not get to wiggler stage. lotsa eggs but thats it. getting a sponge filter on the intakes a must or you will find the free swimmers in your filters. and the fry will feed off the filters. I use a electric coffee grinder to powder up the pellets to feed them. they will rise like a large cloud in your aquarium. wonderful thing to watch.

ya as wigglers there a mass if grey kinda glittery mass, they dig a hole throw them in and then bury them as best they can. they will leave the duds on the rock, hence the white ones there are getting fuzzy still on the rock, they will not hurt anything.

Cheers, more luck than judgement , been lots of helpful suggestions from everyone ,I don't think there far off the fry stage, my wife's got a really expensive machine that grind, crushes and does everything, I'm going to use that to grind pellets, it not like she has any use for it , had it 6 years and still in box

There were more of the white ones but they've been eating them since they shoved the wrigglers under the rock

If I get a few that survive I'd be happy , have people ready to take them and I'd keep a couple for my kids to have in another tank, someone told me they spawn every few weeks is that true if so and this first lot was successful without me doing anything what do you with hundreds of oscars, I only have so many friend s and a couple of tanks

fish food, if you leave long enof the oscars well eat them, even if you sell for store credit to a LFS after first spawn market flooded. if you want to raise a few, I do suggest getting them into a nursery tank after a week or 2 as free swimmers, and ya, cycle around 3 to 4 weeks before they do it again.

folks love to watch there cichlids spawn, wonderful thing to watch, but. after a few months of it, they are done. please give me back my cruise, tail wagging fish, had enof of this.
