I know this might sound like a really dumb question. When everyone recomends salt to help with ick are they referring to marine salt from the pet store or table salt? Sorry if this sounds dumb always heard everyone say use salt and i assumed they meant marine salt but now I'm not so sure.

API aquarium salt, Morton's rock salt. As long as there is no iodine added it's fine. marine aquarium salt will work, but why pay that much money?

apparently you haven't looked.. in my area (riverside county) the only LFS that does not carry live bloodworms is a tiny mom and pop place that sells mostly fish and filtration stuff, they don't concentrate on food much and only keep a small selection of frozen stuff.

all of the other LFS's here have refrigerators with live food in them constantly.. wax worms, meal worms, black worms, blood worms.. just to name what i recognize.

some of them keep the refrigerators in a back room where you can't see it. in this case you have to actually ASK someone if they have what you are looking for. they almost always do.

i looked up Rancho Palos Verdes in Superpages.com and found 3 LFS within reasonable driving distance. i'm sure there are more that aren't listed. Most of the LFS's here don't have yellowpages listings, you have to find them. either by word of mouth or by driving past and spotting them.

i tried to call one of them, but the phone was busy. that's as much of your legwork as i'm willing to do for you.
