help with my plants

im going crazy because i have a tank with small sized gravel on the bottom with a peacock eel and he burrows and uproots all of my plants - yes im a noob and shop at petsmart but they do have a good selection of plants but it looks like they all have to be planted... is there a moss or somthing that grows along the bottom that doesnt need to be stuck in the ground? the rest of my plants are foating, i have a few "ferns" but i am in need of somthing else.

Any moss will do. You need to get plants that have very large root systems for eels. Particularly Echinodorus species, cryptocoryne species. Anubias and java ferns can be rooted to wood or rock quite easily, and will not have any problems as well.

Java moss is awesome, It sticks to anything (rocks and wood included) and I doubt the eel will ruin it.

many plants at petsmart are not aquatic. there are plenty of plants that dont need to be put into gravel.

Hi, I had the same problem, but what i did was to get several small to medium sized teracotta pots and drilled the holes at the bottom of the pots a little bigger and put the rooted plants into the pots with their own gravel and substrate fert. This stopped my burroweres from digging them up, it gave my tank some new dimensions as it raised the plants a little higher, and it also provided additional hiding places for fishes.
