help with new aro!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just got a baby Jar a week ago and he's very skittish. But as suggested I keep the lights off and use a room lamp to provide light when feeding. It has readily accepted frozen bloodworms which all baby aros love. I've been using floating fake plants as well, but it just takes time with these little guys.

Try covering the sides of the tank with newspaper leaving the front expose only.:) May help to calm the fella abit.

that works a treat!! and gradual lighting...maybe sum cellophane over the light or sumthing to calm it down...jars dun like bare bottom tanks either...

hard to tell without knowing water parmaters or anything, but they're hard to keep at that size...too bad.

blackwater extract is made by tetra and has a lot of the things that amazon blackwater (even whitewater) has and has similar effects to what you would get by adding driftwood (tea color, lower pH, etc.)

was your tank cycled????
