Just went to the LFS and i think i got some sort of cichlid that has the same name twice and starts with an A. the woman said it and it was like alspinosa alspinosa or something like that? if anyone knows what the actual name is can you help me out so i can look it up. It is a long fish, shaped like a pike cichlid with a greyish body and black stripes and all of its fins are red. if anyone thinks they know what im talking about please let me know

Got any pics?? We can't really ID a fish without pics.

Bolivian ram (Microgeophagus altispinosa)?

pic r a def big help

A pic will definitely help with the ID. IMHO you should never buy a fish when you have no idea what it is.

are you sure its a cichlid?
