Hey, my names Anthony.

I've been in the hobby since I was a A teenager now I'm 38 and decided get an aquarium to go with my new house.

I got a 55 gallon setup. Black stand and the canopy arrives Friday. I added two to three inches of black sand...

For filtration, I added two basic hang on the back filters designed for 75 gallon setups (aquean), i then added filter media from another existing setup to boost the cycle process. I figured the two filters along with a power head in the right back corner would be sufficient its heavily planted and is decorated with artificial driftwood!
We also added artificial and live plants.
We haven a ten quarter sized mixed anglefish. We have two adult marbled or moi anglefish. We have six small coydras and three small pictus catfish & two apple snails.

Before I continue, this is a grow out aquarium and yes we are preparing to upgrade a larger aquarium..

My six inch or so silver arowans arrives tomorrow. He is my absolute favorite, I've raised them in the past and am aware of their size potential.

I put a dozen disease free feeders in the aquarium to make the arowana "comfortable"...

I know its slightly over stocked but the upgrade is coming soon. My question is do you think the arowana will tolerate the angles. eventually, after the upgrade we will add discus to the aquarium.

Are these potential successful tank mates if they are raised together and big enough to not fit in the arowanas mouth. There arplenty of hiding spots and cover, I just hope the triple filtration along with daily five gallon water changes would be sufficient.

Would anyone be willing to offer any suggestions?

Thank you,
Anthony ***a

Hate to burst ya bubble but unless you're planning an even bigger upgrade down the road I'd just not get the arowana. People underestimate how big they grow and as a result the fish gets stunted. It'll take a few years in the 220 for it to outgrow it but I'd just get the forever tank as soon as possible without jumping from tank to tank. It'll also save ya money in the long run.
Here's a link to a thread that is discussing it on here that I keep bookmarked to remind myself not to get one until I have the tank for it

As previously stated I have experience with arowanas. Ive raised adults with no problems, I have space.. I'm well aware of the details of an arowana but thank you.

Oh I am sorry then, I did not see the part where you had said you had experience with them in the past.
