Help with Nuking my tank

I am keeping those livebearers, a few danios, a few neons, a betta, etc.

Most of those fish have expired at this point. I have really decided that the stock that is left should be eliminated....I like the direction you are pointing me in, but I dont feel like it is necessary to medicate what fish are left....I am not exactly sure of the disease (and this might sound bad) but the cost of the fish vs. the cost of medication/treatement....well it just seems logical to start from scratch.

So...here is my proposal (and tell me if i should do more or if i miss anything).

1. Clove oil remaining stock (mabye 10 small livebearers)
2. Get rid of plants (dont have a lot invested in these)
3. Remove sand substrate (going to attempt to have a malawi tank, when this is straightened out, want to use a diff. substrate)
4. Refill tank, empty bottom, raise temp to low 90's, add 2 tsp salt per gallon (we are talking aquarium salt right? not table or etc,)
5. Let tank run alone with no stock for several weeks.
6. Empty tank after several weeks, put in new substrate, decor, cycle.....

Is that sounding about right?

i cleaned out two tanks and reseled them, one with bleach, it worked perfectly, i filled it outside, and cairfullf mesured out...lol joking i domped like half the gallon it sturred it around and let it sit for about two-three houres, dumped the water out rinced it about 10 times, let it dry and all was well.

another tank i used amonia and this worked even better, i used strait ammonia and a hard bristle brush, i rinced it out outside like the other one and figured that after leaving it for a week everything would have evaperated, and it did, no problems. hydrogenperoxide is too weak and wont kill anything...

Agreed. We talked about it last night, and we are going to take whats left of the fish and put them in the 20 gallon. The population is small enough now they will be fine in the 20, and I will try medicating in that tank...and am going to do the "repairs" on the 55.

It's an empty 20 gal, right? Because the fish may spread whatever they have to others ...

oh, i just reread my post, i guess what i wrote wasnt that funny, thanks for removing it..

and i ment killing bacteria and parisites... not fish, if your fish was sick or dieing then i belive thet frezzing is the best way, thankgwad I only had ti di it once, and the last time that i had fish dropping like flies the ph crashed overnight and filled half of them, now i keep bolth media bags of the hob.
