G'morning guys!(It's 0226 over here). I've got an empty 4x2x2 tank in my room and i'm just about to set it up. I'm thinking of getting a sump tank set up as well but i'm having a bit of a problem cos' my 4 footer is bare, meaning there aren't any over/underflow systems to channel the water to the sump below and that's where i need some help/advice from you experts. I know it can be done but how do i go about doing it? No drilling as that is too laborious and i don't have the necessary tools.

Are there any "easy/simple" ways i could go about doing it? Any links to old threads would be good as well.

Thank you very much!

A) Buy a hang on overflow that pulls water from your tank and feeds it to a sump where it then gets returned to the tank via the sump pump.

B) Or you can make your own. Here's a great article done by CHOMPERS of his d.i.y. hang on overflow build and how the hang on overflow works. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=214933

The second option is way to tough for me to tackle and impossible cos' my tank has bracings everywhere.. Any idea how a Hang-on Overflow looks like?

Those are quite hard to find in Singapore as Sump filtration is not really popular here. Most fishkeepers here use OHF.
I say the best way is to either drill it or get a canister filter. If you drill im sure there are place where you can bring the tank for drilling.

Yea what a bummer. I need to set up my 4 footer real soon and i still can't make up my mind. I really wanna' go sump but i don't know how to on a bare tank. Drilling would take too much effort, time(transporting the tank to and fro) and money.

Maybe hire someone from the company come your house drill?

Thanks for the link but there is just too much distance between the bracing and the back of the tank for something like that to work.
