get a school of SDs and then one (or a pair) of centerpeice fish, either a couple bichirs or maybe go with a mid-sized SA cichlid (green terror or jack dempsey could be good, maybe even 1 of each and a school of 7-8 SDs but you'd have to ask somebody with more cichlid experience than i have)

Ok... What about some type of catfish?

as far as catfish i guess you could get a pictus or 2, with that footprint i'd go native and go catch a couple bullheads

or sun/eclipse catfish

Ok I already have a JD two common plecos. So Im going to get a couple birchir, some type of catfish and some other cichlids. The tank is new by the way. :D

be careful with the pleco/bichir mix, i've heard the plecos often eat the slime coats off the bichirs which can end up killing them - that being said that ur gonna have cichlids i would get a couple pictus since they'll eventually get pretty big and they're fast enough to get away from trouble if the JD gives them any problems

If you have plecos you cant get Bichirs....Just add some Silver Dollars and your tank will be stocked full

What kind of pictus are you referring to? The common ones sold in stores aren't going to break 5 inches.

Not that you couldn't keep them in that tank, you'd just be looking at bigger numbers of them. Pictus don't like to be in groups of less than six, so that's not a bad sized setup for them.

i've heard like 10 different things about them... i've had people tell me they barely break 5", i've had people tell me they reach nearly 10", i've had people tell me they only need to be in schools when they're juveniles, i've had people say they get territorial as hell when they get bigger, i've seen all of these opposing aspects on websites, i just wish i could find some stability in what i'm told it drives me crazy :nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly:
