My juvenile peacock bass has skmetsome up with him but not sure what. His fins are all scrunched up, hasn't been eating and has almost a white film on him. All other fish are perfectly fine. Water is spot on, I 20% wc every 3-5 days, nitrates and nitrites are fine, no amonia, pH is good, just don't get it. Only thing I can think of is some type of fungal infection. Should be noted I do not feed live, he accepts beefheart l, shrimp, and blood worms.IMG_20180924_181133.jpg IMG_20180924_181128.jpg IMG_20180924_181121.jpg

Would up the water changes to 50% per week. Would change to a pellet soaked with some vitachem. Add salt 1 tsp per g. How long has it been sick? Other tankmates? Tank temp? New fish? What does it’s poop look like?

I noticed about a week ago a whitish spot on his lip and thought maybe he got into with another fish or crashed into some driftwood or something. He acted fine until a few days ago. Water was at 80 just dropped it to 78. I use salt whenever I water change, his tankmates are fine but if you asking what is in there, there is an Oscar, Mayan chichlid, rtc, giant Asian upside-down cat, featherfin, and pleco. Haven't really noticed the poop lately

Would separate for now with a divider or in a second tank. Would provide clean water and dose with prazipro. Would change it’s diet to a pellet and soak in vitachem if its hungry. Get an idea on poop and update is it goes.

Awesome thank you! I tried getting him on pellets for almost two weeks and get still wouldn't hit them haha but I'll give it another shot

If able break up pellets and place in bloodworms or shrimp. Hide it in there and feed the pbass. Still not sure what’s wrong but if it eats it’ll be a good sign.

Yeah he goes up to the food and even bites it then spits it out. Will keep you updated on it. Still never seen anything that looks like what's on him. Doesn't look like a fungus but definitely not ich. Idk

I think it's colimnaris

Could be. Was hoping it’ll eat and improve a bit before rushing to meds (kanaplex and furan2). Don’t know if it’ll recover.

It's not fast kill strain of columnaris, which kills in 48 hours, so there is still hope that the right medication can help this guy turn around.
