Thank you. I'm actually a reptile guy more than a fish. I don't even have any of my monster fish anymore except for a fancy goldfish tank. I will try to get pics but there are so many hides that I can never see all of them cuz they're nocturnal. Plus the water level is only about 2.5-3" making it harder to actually get pics

A TDS meter is just a device to make sure your RO unit is doing what it's supposed to. TDS should come out at 0 or close to it if your RO unit is working properly.
Once that is checked and if the TDS are very low you should be able to adjust the Ph from there.

It's usually between 5 and 50 depending on the quality of the unit and membranes used I think

Ok. Right now I've just been buying it cuz I've been too lazy to fish out my ro unit from when I kept sw but I'll definitely put that tds meter to good use

Since you're going the route of adjusting the ph, I would recommend you get a barrel or tub of some sort to store the water in. This will allow you to adjust the ph before you perform the water change, and make sure it's stable at 6.0.

I do that as well. Something about the water movement causes the pH to raise cuz with the tubs they're in right now with no filtration, the pH is stable at 6.0. I always have a 5g jug of RO water that I've adjusted to 6.0 as well and that stays stable but for some reason the tank which contains driftwood, almond leaves, peat moss and live plants constantly raises back up to 7. That tank is a 20 long but only contains maybe 2.5-3G of water in it
