Help with psyco oscar

I did all the research I could about these fish. Don't act like I don't know what I'm doing off of a single post. Every site including this one said 75 gallon minimum. After owning an Oscar I'd agree they need bigger and I'm working on it. The devil doesn't get as big as an oscar and I think a 180 is overkill for a single 8"-14" fish. And I said the 55 was a grow out its going in the 75 after I get my 125 going for the Oscar. The sunfish are going to get their own 75 after a few more paychecks. And psycho maybe to strong but the fish has gone bats@#$ compared to how he's been for the past 5 years in adequate conditions.
See where you went wrong is looking for the minimum size. I don't think an Oscar at adult size should be in less then a 120 standard 4x2x2 as the only fish. 75 is a good grow out tank until you start getting what you have going on. The Oscar needs to be in a bigger tank asap. You have people replying here that have more fish keeping actual experience in their little finger then you have and you are getting snippy with them? It's unfortunate you like so many others didn't look too deeply in to the research because if you had you'd have seen so many threads debating this exact thing and in the end its always the same as we have here. Consensus says needs a larger tank. Just because the first couple of posts says 55 or 75 or whatever doesn't mean its right. Look at who is posting, figure out how the forum works and you will see who the people are that give good advise. Imo no one is attacking you either don't be so defensive just accept the fact the research you did was probably rushed and the issue needs to be fixed. That may mean rehoming your fish and replacing with more appropriate fish for the space you currently have.

I moved the male sunfish into the 55 everything's going good so far. They aren't staying any longer than they have to hopefully the 125 gets here soon. I know the 75 isn't big enough for the fish I had just for it to go south after being great for so long. The Oscar was already 3 yrs old when I put um in all smaller than my devil is now hell the con wasn't even 2" yet
Just because most sites say a 75 is adequate, doesn't mean its true.
I have watched terrirorial male JDs (much smaller than adult oscars) defend areas equivalent to @ 250 gallons from all other cichlids in their natural habitat.
Watch the male below, at about 1 minute in the video.
Cristalino
A 75 gal tank has the volume of water equivalent to truck tires rut in the road, most small cichlids would not be caught dead in that limited amount of space.
To me a 75 is only large enough for 1 or 2 cichlids that don't get any larger than 7.5".
Your oscar is doing what comes naturally, eliminating the competition needed to exist

You're right all across the board. I'm trying to get down to just my Oscar and devil(in separate tanks) just hate to lose my sunfish. I was already angry/stressed with my fish situation going into it and reacted instead of listening to what I was reading. My 125 should be here any day and the o is getting that to himself once its cycled. I moved my devil into my 20 until I can rehome the sunfish. The devil is going in my 75 when it opens up, hopefully by the end of the month, not its permanent home but at least till it gets some size.

This sounds like a good plan
If you just want the Oscar to come out more, you could maybe try some silver dollars with it in the 125 as dithers. They will hopefully give it something to chase around, and feel comfortable, but be too large to eat.

I finally talked my kid into letting me rehome the Oscar. Hate to see him go, but once I pulled my head out of you know where I understand what you all were saying. The devil will get the 125 until I can get my basement done then I'll aim for a 180. I apologize for my reactions/ ignorance I lost sight of what's best for my fish and focus more on keeping them. I'm still learning and i was leaning more on what I wanted to hear and not what I needed to. Thank you all for help!
