Help with Rats

I am aware of how to feed my snakes, just don't know how to breed rats. Didn't know how different they were from mice, but do not seem different at all really.

The info was more of a way to give you an idea of how I set up my breeding schedule, and try to help figure how many females you may want to put into rotation. Sorry I didn't elaborate that clearer.

In an attempt to help minimize any Leftovers as you said you didn't have anywhere to outsource them to. I was really big on not feeding frozen/thawed prey. Hence the Co2 Chamber, and I completely forgot to take into account that you'd probably freeze any Leftovers.

I would recommend a diet of lab blocks from Mazuri or Harlan

Do you know when these feeds came out? At the time I was breeding rats the only commercial rat food I could find was Hearts 8-1 and Purina 1 had a better ingredient label.

I have been using Harlan Tek product #7001 for about 2 years from their website, and I started getting my Mazuri stuff about 2003 by ordering through a local feed store. Prior to that, I kind of winged it.
