I have 3 Red Devils = RDs (1 was sold too me as a Midas, jury's out still)

I introduced 2 of my largest RDs in hopes of a pair.
(1 is about 8"+ or so and second is 11"+)
DID NOT GO WELL ! :irked:

Put them back into their "home" tanks.
With in a hour the smaller RD, I thought was a male
(judging by big bump on head)
Laid hundreds of EGGS !!!!!! Waste....:(

Then yesterday the Largest of the 2 laid an easy THOUSAND EGGS !!!!!
Another Waste ....

Well now I know their sex :D,but my other 5-6" RD/Midas is too small to breed with either of the much bigger RDs.

First problem is I have No Large MALE,any help there would be great.

second problem is....

When the first RD laid eggs, the eggs were on a piece of slate.
This was easy to remove,no problem.(other fish in tank are safer now :D)
BUT........................
The second RD is a whole different problem.
See when we Moved the "Fishroom" in basement to different area......
This RD's "home" tank was placed on bottom of 2x4 shelf we built.
Thinking nothing of the huge one piece plastic store bought cave thing that was in the tank.:screwy::screwy::screwy:

Now too the problem....(if you can't see already,LOL)

The large RD laid it's eggs in this cave thing...........
Now I am standing here looking at tank, thinking I should remove the eggs.

And it DAWNS on me, HOW DO I GET THEM OUT !!!!??????
The cave thing will not fit between shelf and tank,IT IS STUCK IN THERE !

This RD will try to come out of the water to BITE ME !
needless to say sticking hands in tank and scrubbing off eggs is OUT.
I could remove fish ....don't want to stress her.

Leave the eggs ?
She is alone in tank.....will not share PERIOD !
(Don't have another large empty tank ready, cycling a 150gal now)
I thought I would share.....I thought this was funny.(Sort Of ):screwy::ROFL:

Your Insight ? same type of experiences ?

can you see them? if so can your phyton suck and scrap at the sametime or is the phython to big? other wise I am stumped... maybe use one of those extend aquarium arms to scrap and then suck out...

can you suck them out with a phyton?

Thats exactly what i would have said..just the way you clean the bottom of the tank.. no exception. They are long enough so that my RD justs attacks the tube not me..

you know the reaching stick trash grabbers for old people that LFS sell scrap and then suck with that as an extender to keep arm out of tank...lol

Ha ha yea thats what i use.. if all that fails just do water change soon..
