Mystix212 ; I would just let the eggs rot, and perform daily water changes to keep the eggs from poluting the water. Easy. Much better than having scabby knuckles.

I am a clean freak.
She laid hundreds of eggs. covered whole inside of a large cave.
big train;The moma rd will eat those eggs well most of them once they get good and fuzzy and then i would do a wc and cleaning the tank.I think u need a divider and put your smaller male in with 1 of the lady's and they will spawn through the divider your 5-6" male should be sexualy mature at that size i would keep him and in another year or so he will be as big as your large lady but u may still need the divider perhaps evan more so when u get 2 x 12" devils in a tank.

How do they get sperm on eggs ? through a divider ?
I have seen this on several sites/pics ??
Does she drop eggs by divider where magic happens
then picks eggs up w/ mouth and put on slate/pot ?

I waited they were fuzzy and stuck together.
She wasn't going to eat them(I think)

I could see a small batch but she laid a boat-Load !

Ok

I have gotten eggs from my devils !
Yaaaaaaa !

I am not sure they are fertilized.
Some eggs are white with fungus.
Looks like a dozen or so eggs with fungus fungus.(out of 100-150 eggs)
they are spread out among the eggs.
The rest look ok ? don't know.

how long (hours) before you know for sure if they are fertilized ?

The eggs were laid day before yesterday mid day,nov 29th.

I was thinking about removing eggs with fungus ?
don't know if that would do more harm than good ?

Should I remove the egg and treat with methylene blue ?

so happy to see eggs now to keep them alive......:ROFL:

Well...I am at an end with the Devils.
They all have such bad attitudes :irked:

I have slowly rotated all the females in with the male.
When they showed signs they were ready to lay eggs.

Everytime the fish dance around in circles.....this looks All good at this point.
Then after a while the male chases them to the same corner and beats the crap out of them.:irked:

I have tried moving him to the girl's tanks.....
didn't work and their tanks are smaller.(40 gals)
Not enough room..

I have used dividers too save the females.

I have 3 different females ,All have laid eggs.

I don't know what else to do.

I have ;
bumped temp both ways.
done w/c with cooler water.
feed well (Always :))

Added pots,plates,rocks,greenery....
And moved around all of the above several times


I am thinking this male is too Aggressive :WHOA:

Most the time the male is laid back....he really don't bite me like the girls always do.:eek:


I have been told by several people to put them all into my 150 gal.
(actually a 135 gal :()
I just started cycle on this tank.(filled 1/19 ,seeded with gravel,decor,and filter media.....also goldfish)

Got 5 on the nitrates not enough bacteria to support 4 devils ....size 7"-10" or so.would be overload to system I think.:(
