help with setting up my new 55gal tank!!!!

hey everyone... i am setting up a new 55 gallon freshwater tank soon and i wanted to switch to pool filter sand as a substrate. if anyone is experienced using PFS, can you tell me what brand you used and if its good to use.. oh and the fish i have is a tiger oscar and a tire track eel. thanks, hope to here a reply soon

yea those 2 will need a min of 75-90gal for life

pool filter sand is usually the same all over, just vary in color from white to tan. Wash it and throw it in. 1 50lb bag will be plenty for a 55gallon.

i know.. but right now thier are still babies. iono i might get a 75 gal, but im still looking around for tanks. so can anyone stil help me??

really, cause ive herd there different grain size and some people say it has to be made of silica/quartz. does anyone know the brand they used?

i just buy play sand from home depot for 3 bucks per 50lb bag

u can do that to, and wash it really well, but imo playsand is ugly . I got my pool filter sand for 7$@50lbs
