I got a synspilum which has come down with a fungus infection. He has like 3 white spots on him in one area. I am wondering what is a good medication. I have some Fungus Cure from API. is that good? any info will help. I posted this as a thread, but i havnt gotten much when asking about meds

I think I've used the API stuff before when I was using my 29 for a growing tank for my JD and had a fungus problem then, I generally trust the brand.

I DO NOT however, have experience with synspilum, and DO NOT know their reaction to medications, whether they are sensitive or not. If they are, raise the temp and begin vigorous water changes.

Hopefully someone with Vieja experience will be able to tell you more.

Any way to snap a picture of the issue in question?

i cant get a pic that clearly shows it but basically, he has like 3 or 4 white cottony spots on his head above his eye. there might be a little swelling there but its hard to tell. it seems like theres the white spots and around it his skin is dark.

I'd treat with Melafix + Pimafix + Salt.

I agree with the statement before mine. That was my exact suggestion. Hike the temp, and dose with melafix, pimafix and salt.

There a very few things that can't be treated with that combo. And the best part about it is there are no chemicals involved.

I used a whole bottle of melafix for fin rot and it didn't do Jack but let my fish get more I'll. I definatetly liked the idea of "all natural" but I needed to move to antibiotics. Maracyn 2 still seeIng if it will work. Payed 70 bucks for this jardini and I ain't letting him go to *****
