Help with stocking a 55 gallon

I currently have a BP, 1 year old peacock, and a juvenile peacock in a 55 gallon tank, yes I know this isn't ideal. However I am setting up am additional 55 gallon tank and am looking for advice for suitable tank mates.

One idea I have is to put the BP in the new tank, once established. The BP would be in the tank with a pictus which previously got along just ran out of hiding places.

As for the peacocks there will be two in the tank so I am looking to stock both of them. Ideally the new stock would be less than 4 inches and able to handle a BP or peacock.

Some thoughts I've had are tetras for the BP and rams for the peacocks. Cory's have been a thought as well just not sure if it would be for the peacocks or BP and pictus.

Any other suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I have a sand substrate with the temp set at 80. For the new tank I am considering the same parameters since the peacocks like to shift through the sand.

Rams sift through sand also at least Bolivian Rams do and pictus like to be in groups so maybe 3 pictus and BP in one tank and you could just add more peacocks in your other tank.

Considering the size of one of my peacocks is about 5 to 6 inches and the other is maybe over 2 inches, would 2 to 3 prevent over crowding?

I would not put Rams of any species in either of the aquariums.

Peacocks are normally overstocked with all males so there is no breeding to prevent aggression. If you don't want to overstock I would maybe look into some African catfish synodontis petricola or multipunctatus.

You need to add atleast 2 more African Peacock or you will probably have deaths from aggression. I also suggest all Males be added Females would make thing's even worse unless you had 1 male to 3 female ratio.

I would be okay with over stocking as this would end up being a peacock only tank. I'll post some photos of the 3 fish I have.

These are the 2 current peacocks I have. The BP is awfully shy.

I'm looking at livefishdirect and am beginning to feel way overwhelmed.

Is there a way to sex the current peacocks?
