Hello

A little about my jack, my roomie acquired him with the tank he bought. The
fish was doing fine, but since my roomie wanted his tank for his peacock bass I decided to keep the jack and put him in a tank I bought. Since we transferred him over he hasn't got his color back. I've dried what seems everything added bacteria to the water, added an airstone, and created some caves for it. What can I do to help my fish?

Thanks!

Sounds like hes stressed, it can take weeks for a fish to get acclimated to a new home especially after being netted and transfered!!!

Give him time, also, since the tank isnt cycled move some media or gravel from the old tank to the new, you can also put some of the old filter pad in the new filter, that will help seed it faster. It not good to cycle a tank w/ a fish so get a test kit so you know when to change water cuz ammonia and nitrite will eventually spike!!

Just did the water change. About 40%. I have been checking the ammonia and nitrite levels and both seem to be at 0. Is this ok or should I be finding some levels of either?

Here's a picture of the little fella about an hour after the water change. He was just swimming around.
