When I bought it the guy told me 50 gallons but I think it's 44 gallons.

Just did the water change. About 40%. I have been checking the ammonia and nitrite levels and both seem to be at 0. Is this ok or should I be finding some levels of either?

Here's a picture of the little fella about an hour after the water change. He was just swimming around.

Hes fine just give it some time; also the lighting looks a little different (much brighter in your tank)

That would be why your water tests are showing zeros, I did the same thing as you and my tank is now cycled, just monitor the water parameters and he will be fine, nice looking fish btw.

I noticed that too. I want to change the light to make it look the older tank or some light that will bring out the color in the fish more.
