reverse osmosis can be fairly inexpensive if u make it yourself.
get a trauth decently big (100gal or more), seperate it with plexiglass(1/4 inch thickness)1/3 from the side of the trauth. you'll need 2 pieces of plexi with small holes drilled through. seperate the 2 halves 12" to 18" apart. fill between the plexi to the top with pea gravel or limestone or a mixture of both. this filters the water. you'll need to fill the bigger side of the trauth with the tap water and figured out a way to push it through the plexi.
