the fish doesn't look too bad, it just has minor scrapes and scratches, but once it starts eating a lot, it will heal very quickly.
Watch how the other fish are treating him, the parrots may have done that to him.
hi, i sure it's not the parrots, they grew up in a community since they were half an inch long, but I think it's the severum and festivum that are beating on him, so i'm taking festivum and probably the sev back.
is it normal for them not to feed for the first few days.
p.s. the festivum violently kills all the feeders I put in (he grabs them by the eye or gill and then snaps their neck) i thought festivum were supposed to be peaceful like angelfish
have had him a little over a week. he is only like 3.5 inches long. found of the red were bruises from the stupid severum (got rid of the sev), but he seems to be doing very well
also it won't eat feeders so i'm having a bit of trouble feeding (don't worry it is getting food, just not enough to make a big bulge in it's stomach).

At that size, you can start getting him accustomed to all kinds of foods; he doesn't need feeders with all the quality foods available now. Omega One has good flakes and pellets; HBH makes a nice soft sinking pellet ALL my fish go for; shrimp pellets are good; New Llife Spectrum is good, too. My guy is between 10 and 11 inches now, and takes food from my hands, whether it's flakes, smooshed together pellets, or thawed bloodworms. He'll get used to you--glad he's doing so much better. Guess I was lucky--the 5 severums in with him never bothered him, they're pretty laid back.
he's been doing very well now, and i'd like to get another large fish to live with him and the other fish (is a pictus catfish gonna be big enough or to sharp/spiny to get eaten?) i'm am considering an oscar, would this work? any other recomendations are good too.
P.S. i'm only 13 (almost 14) and don't want to spend over $50 on fish (i will if i have to but would like to save it for a bigger tank for the knife.
