Mile High in Northern AZ, baby!~
HELP HELP HELP!!!
Ma's ORANDA's have blood streaks in their tails and are lathargically lying on the bottom...
I also noticed white specs on some of their tailfins...
Water perams are
0-ammonia
0-Nitrite
20/30-Nitrate
80f with salt @ 1tbs per 10 gallons

Ma loves her fatheaded potbellies...
I was thinking PIMA/MELAfix
What about Erythromycin or Triple Sulfa?

i don't know anything about these fish..{fancy gold fish} i only have your regular comets and shebunkens ..all the meds you mentioned are great although some scaleless fish and otherwise delicate types you have to really be careful what you use.. and goldfish are cold water with these meds you usually turn the temp up ...with gold fish you cannot do this ..i would do water changes and salt is best..sounds to me like an injury..as all fish will get this if they have been flapping or injured.. how many have this..what happened in the tank? Anything you notice different or added anything?? Sorry i cannot help more. It really sounds like bad water.especially cause they are laying on bottom...75% water change in a hurry and aquarium salt .. way to go and nothing more for now and see if it helps.

Sounds like haemorrhagic septicaemia

Broad spectrum antibiotics is recommended for septicaemia....such as erythromycin, oxytetracycline.....Maracyn and Maracyn 2 combo is basically this I believe.

Sounds like Ich

Regarding ich treatment, I know koi can tolerate high temp and salt though I have no experience of oranda's

And plenty of water changes.
Good luck.

Liz...no changes or additions to her tank...everything was fine lastnight at lightsout...

Thank you all...
I did a Melafix treatment and sulfa...they are no longer lathargic and are swimming normally...we'll see what the night brings...
