Help!

Aequidens sp. "Gold Saum"
Crenicichla sp. "Xingu 1"
Crenicichla sp. "Cobra"

I bought these fish from Rapps over a month ago, and they are the only fish in my 180 gallon. None are more than 5", but ever since I bought them I have lost half. None at the same time. But I lost the salvini, frempongi, xingu 1, and cobra. So I am down to half, and none of the fish that died seemed to have any issues other than the salvini that got pop-eye immediately. Any ideas? What do I do to save the rest of the fish? Or do you think I'm fine? Everything in my tank is fine...

Sounds like internal parasites to me...my two cents.

the two pikes did the whole "torpedo" experience. And I woke up to the frempongi floating. I didnt notice any major aggression issues..if anything the frempongi held his own against the others pretty well. And no one really bothered the pikes.

I have an 18 watt turbotwist uv sterilizer set up for parasites. Could it still be parasites?

I have never used a turbotwist or anything but medicine for parasites. To ask a probably stupid question how does the turbotwist kill the parasites in the fish? I understand it elminates them in the water and if they breed in the water then you can kill them all I would guess. I need to get a turbotwist to check out and have a 2nd option besides medicating the water and praying they eat the medicated food lol.

sorry..i meant that I've been using a uv sterilizer. Even since before the fish came in. So technically..there shouldnt be any parasites anyway?

That it what I thought, becasue they aren't free floating in the water column to get sucked into your intake and be sterilized by the uv light.

if it was internal parasites, have you noticed symptoms suggesting whether it is something like protozoans or worms...treatments vary, and are a PITA when it comes to worms esp. camallanus
