:(:(:cry:Hey!! i have this red oscar and i bought this flowerhorn and that flowerhorn went crazy and made a gash on his head and now he is blind and cant see anything!!! he cant find the pellets i put in ther for him and he cant eat. i do i feed him????? he has gone about 5 days without food. i put the food in and my pacu eats it before he can get it!!!!!!!!! plz i need help!!!

Put the oscar into a hospital tank and nurse it back to health. Reintroduce him when fully healed...

you need to separate the oscar to his own tank; put salt teaspoon per 10g, won't bring the eye back but will keep infection down and raise temp to low 80's. your oscar will feed, because they do have good sense of smell.

Keep us updated, and sorry to hear about it. Also, flowerhorns are absolutely evil when it comes to tank mates; most mild mannered cichlids and other fish will be killed; my mom learned it the hard way. the one my mom has killed all the firemouths and convicts i gave her.

Yup, flowerhorns are nasty. I assume you got rid of it? It probably won't tolerate any tank buddies. Put the oscar in a hospital tank, add salt and raise the temperature. It can survive a long time without food, so don't worry if he doesn't eat at first.

How big is your tank? And how big are the fish?

i did get rid of the flowerhorn and i did the salt thing, the gash is all healed but he still wont eat cuz he doesnt know where the food is

Ok, if you can get frozen squid, try that; thaw out a piece, and cut it into strips. thawed squid has a really strong smell, and put it on a blunted skewer stick. wave the squid strip in front of your oscar, and see if that will work. worked for a really finicky arowana, but then again, he could see.

Sorry for late reply.

you have a pacu there
i hope all goes well in your tank

ya me too. ill keep u guys updated on wat happens...
