  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yea I have him as well as a blue channel, and a red tail x tiger shovelnose. Pretty cool fish. Thank you man. I appreciate it.

raise your temp to 87-88 and youll be fine

I don't want to sound harsh or anything but you should have researched everything you can about these fish before you bought them and plonked them in your new tank. All the info you need is here in this site.
When I bought my first peacock bass I knew what to feed them, how fast they grow, I knew to keep them at 86F. You can't just say that's a cool fish and buy it. Trust me I've lost some cool fish in the past and it's horrible to have to research how it died and discover that you killed it.

no need for the derailment of the thread braddah... obviously this is a forum where you can get help and see all different kinda fishys here... so IMO no need to sound harsh.... just help,, or dont say anything @ all.... it may suck if you lose a fish,,, but it may be better for an individual to make a mistake... cuz that would be the only way to learn,,, dont ya think??? any ways best of luck.. keith!!

keith...keep temp up to 86.. add a lil dabb of salt.. and they will be better in no time.... if you feel the need to add more salt make sure you do a water change prior to you throwin more inn!!;)

I wasnt being harsh what so ever. I was just saying I am glad i have found this site. When you say a dab of salt how much is that, and what type of salt?

yup you got all of us MFKer's now...you don't have to worry about anything anymore now you have your MonsterFishKeeping family lol

If I would have known about this site, then maybe would have done the research.

You guys are right. I apologize, there was no need for me to be like that. I wouldn't like anyone to reply the way I did if I needed help. Instead I will offer some help. To cure this ich you first want to raise your temp to 86F and keep it like that for good. Baby peacock bass live in the shallows in the wild and so need a high temp. Next you can either add one teaspoon per gallon of aquarium salt, do this over two days(half dose on day one, half dose on day two). Or the other option is to use a half dose of anti white spot medication. I used the med when my 2" peacock bass had white spot and this cleared it up in a couple of days. But obviously it's up to you if you want to use meds.
