This obviously comes too late, but do you quarantine with salt and elevated temp? That might help next time. Have you tried Melafix?

i never quarantine because i usually only buy fish that i dont think are sick.
but my tank always has 30 degrees water and salt.

How soon after you water change do you add fish or add fish then water change? This may be causeing the fish to much stress if they are not use to haveing such large amounts of fresh waters. New water can harm fish.

lemme think.
i only changed the water 4-5 days before i got the oscar and TSN.
i only changed the water after they started getting the slime thing.
as for the acaras,i changed the water 2 or 3 days before i got them.
i changed the water one day after i got them because they got the slime thing.
