Tank parameters? Tank maintenance schedule? Add anything new to the tank? Give as much information as you can.

He may have jumped and injured himself. When this happens silvers will become extremely skittish. I would get a water sample to test parameters and then leave alone for a day. The fish can go a day without eating. The least amount of stress is best and in this state the aro could even hurt itself more.

its really skittish, test the water, since the tank is so small it can hurt itself badly

I would assume he jumped out of the tank and is stressed out. I say get him a bigger tank.

get rid of the o's
