Where are you getting the Zebra Mantis? The Zebra Mantis is the only spearer mantis that I've been able to find for sale and that was on www.bluezooaquatics.com for $80 and they call it a Bumble Bee Mantis.

most cowfish that I have seen kept successfully were in big 400+ most people put one in a 100 gallon cause the LFS want's to sell it not really caring much about what it's real need's should be. If you kept it by itself in a 100 gallon maybe you could get away with it but why waste the money on something that is like a 35% surviver in captivity. Zebra mantis are awesome and more personable to me a lot hardier too.

Forgot - people keep special species tanks at 29 G (some 24) for a longhorn - some, for a camel cowfish and some for reticulated (scribbled) boxfish.:nilly:

not exactly... my friend kept a huge scrawled cowfish in a 29 gallon community tank and it was always healthy - it didn't even get the ich! And at the end, he died from old age, not poison!

I don't know much about the cowfish... but I know I think the Mantis Shrimp are Bad AZZZZZZZ I sometimes go on you tube just to watch them1 I vote Mantis Shrimp... then post videos when it "owns" everything in your tank! :)
