Have you tried asking him why? It could be some odd ball misunderstanding that can easily be rectified without a fight.
On the other hand if you really like fish and he doesn't care then finding a new fish tolerant boy friend might be easier.

So do his socks but you don't forbid those in the house. BTW remind him that he's you BF not your father which seems to be bit mixed up between his ears.
