5 in convict, tail does count :) its part of its body! its like saying your feet doesnt count.Anyway look into festivum or keyhole cichlid I haave both 5-6 inches and thats with the tail lol

when measuring how big a fish is that you just caught out of a river that needs to be above a length limit yes fin counts

anytime measuring a fish for scientific reasons, or on this forum fin is excluded, body length is what counts, some fish have nice long streamers off there fins are you going to include that too? its part of the fin, thats like saying measure your feet but your toes dont count

we disagree . . . that is not the tail, that is the tail fin

the fin does not count, it is not like "feet", it is like "hair" . . . if you grow your hair longer, you don't get taller

I know a lot of people like to find that extra inch wherever they can tho' ... :D
