ok, i will do a big water change later tonight. what else can i do for this fish? i dont have a quarantine tank as the filter broke so he needs to stay in there, and he looks healthy just the listing and lethargy

i can't say everyone here does the same percentage for water change but the important thing is that when your water params turn bad, you increase the amount of water changes to correct the problem. doing 10 percent a week should hardly make a dent if you had ammonia problem and only took out 10 percent.

it's only a matter of time before your other fish die due to the same cause. daily water changes, 25 percent. don't add any more fish as you'll increase the bioload. Cut down on feeding also

had no plans to add more fish. will it be better once my U3 comes and should i have both running on there? the U3 is 3 stage filtration, and the 3+ is sponges

it never hurts to over filter your tank, so if you can run both, i'd do it. if you just increase your water changes, you should be fine though. The reason i say your nitrates is high is your plants are utilizing some of them which is actually lowering your number. it'd be higher without them.

ok, so would more plants be a good idea, more each time i water change, more filtration? will they be ok until my new filter arrives? will go and buy more plants tomorrow
