My FH seems to have come down with Columnaris (Flexibacter columnaris) :( ...I have never had any trouble with this disease and am asking for any advice in treating it...

Also, here is a picture of the progression....the FH top lip is about 1/4 deteriorated and after being swollon for several days, has begun eating away at the lip. I thought it was just swollen from lip locking with a female FH in his old tank.....Do you think it's possible he can heal or is he past the point of successful treatment? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

oh, and none of the other fish he use to be in with are showing signs of the disease. What should I do to prevent the spread? Thanks....

This is all I could find regarding the disease. Are you sure that this is what it is? The reason I ask if because I have a similar problem with a couple of my Tiger Muskies, but its mostly from them freaking out when the light goes on, and they nose dive into the gravel (causing what looks like an abrasion on their lips and snouts). One of them has a bump that makes his jaw look almost broke, but they are all eating well. They also just came off of some meds that this article mentions, and so I'm figuring it's not what my guys have, and I do hope it isn't what yours has either.

Here's the article...

Good luck!
