There are no "poop eating fish " available.

Wonder which dumbass started the whole poop eating fish trend and labelled those pleco as sucker fish which cleans poop

Ok cool sounds good so if they make a bigger mess i wont get one and its the biggest hassle to thoroughly clean his tank because I have to siphon the water out its nasty but I clean the glass a lot with my magnet thingy

Adding plecos is probably the most common mistake folks make when trying to make their tank cleaner. People think they eat everything because they are scavenger fish, but they need regular food just like most other fish, they just prefer it at the bottom. They will eat lots of algae, but they create just as much because the poop ALOT. You have no idea what I mean by ALOT until you've kept them. Most of the ones sold in local chains are commons and can grow to 2-2 1/2 feet pretty quickly. They usually hide all day and put an enormous strain on your system. You have to really love plecos to understand and keep them.

I have a 6" L204 flash pleco. It's a wood eater( literally) . My daughter affectionately named her Cassie" poopsalot" and that fish does not come out at all during daylight hours and eats wood and craps constantly. I have 4 filters on the tank turning it over roughly 15 times an hour, do weekly water changes and it's still almost not enough. This fish wont eat ANY algae either. Great fish to watch under the lunar lights at night, but like I said, you gotta really love em to keep em.

Weekly water change of 50%, with water conditioner and a gravel vac and you'll be set.

If siphoning is such a drag, get a new siphon. You can get small ones that you can hand pump to prime(no sucking on a hose), or get something bigger that can attach to a garden hose and run in straight outside. Depending on the size of you tank I still prefer 5 gallon buckets for refilling.

Just one last question how long until he gets full sized? Hes kinda small from wat ive heard. Ive heard some of these thhings can grow like 2 ft! mine is roughly 7"! Did I mention hes 2 years old?

I think it depends on a few things, they are brackish fish and for best results should be in a brackish tank, but after 2yrs it is probly a little late and I dont think he would get much bigger. Just make sure he has a lot of protein in his diet.

Yes I feed him twice a day in the morning plankton and bloodworms in the evening and every now and then he eats the reg fish flakes for the guppy

wait I thought plecos ate poop
