I just got a 5" South American Gar and a 5" Freshwater Barracuda (red tail baracuda). I put them in the tank with a 4" Silver ARo and a 5" Geophagus. As soon as they were in after about 5 minutes the SA got up an snapped at the Arowana and took off a big piece of his tail. I kno that the arowana would get beat up by the SA. I put a few feeder guppies in and the SA is eating them. I was hoping maybe this would distract him from my arowana and keep him busy and full. Is there any way i can help my arowana. I have a 75 gallon tank with a 9" wolf fish, 2 14" RB Pacu, a 5" PBass, and a 12" Clown Knife. I also have a 10gallon tank but with no heater. I was hoping i could either put the arowana in the 10 gallon tank, put the SA in the 75 gallon tank or somehow make a seperator for the arowana and the gar that neither could fit through... any ideas?

Agreed, what size tank are they in now? What temp is the back up 10 gallon at that you are considering using?

My suggestion would be try to run out and get at least a 20 long to put the gar into for a few days until you figure out what you are going to do long term. Most of the fish you listed will need multiple hundreds of gallons when it's all said and done.
