I would just keep up on water changes and keep a VERY close eye on your fish, making sure they're eating well, their scales and slime coat look normal, fins are all working properly and gills are normal. There's not much else you can do until symptoms occur

What are you running for filtration?
I second the daily 50% water changes. 100% wc seems rediculous especially since you don't know the parameters or what is causing the distress.

If you have something to put water in, get a Molly or tetra of some sort and put it in a container with that aquarium water. See how it does.. They have bad immune systems for tue most part so if it lives then your tank should be safe

I'd do a black Molly, that way you can see any changes in appearance without having to look closely
