Will sell fish when they get to large for tank :)

I can't help you much as far as filters and heaters, but I would like to warn you about your current stock. As you have already stated, it's a lot for a 55. Most of these fish will outgrow your tank rather quickly. You may end up having to sell your entire stock, pardoning maybe the pleco. How do I know this? I as well have fish that will outgrow my tank. I've been called out on that before. I'm keeping an eye on that, as I've read and heard that environment can affect how big the fish potentially grow. As a result, my stock number is very low to accomodate the sizes my fish get. Could you keep your current stock for a while? Yes, but not for a very long time. No doubt some of those fish grow slower than others. I'd be worried about the arowana with a stock so large in a 55g. Your willingness to sell those fish when they get too big, however, is good! Many members of MFK have GIGANTIC tanks that could easily suit your stock, and they will be in good hands. My suggestion? Monitor the sizes of your fish. If you properly care for them, you'll be making the most of what you've got. Good luck!

I can see a few problems here...

1. As mentioned already your stock will very quickly outgrow your tank with exception for maybe the loaches that are slow growers...

2. The fish you named are all quite robust and will easily tear apart a even semi delicate planted tank in close quaters...

3. Regarding carbon, its not needed in a planted tank since it technically removes ammonia etc from the water which your plants use as food...

As for the hood system, the link doesnt have any info about it, so best would be to talk to the seller and get info on the lights, as not all LED's are made equal...

I am planning to sell the fish or my dad is considering getting 150+ tank and he would take my stock except for fire eel as he likes the stocking...
will do with the lights.
