I’m thinking of getting another Adonis pleco (maybe even albino) and I’m trying to figure out how to sex them and how to tell when their sexuality mature like how long do they have to be. Now I don’t think anyone on this whole fourm has one but I’m still going to try. Thanks MFK community

the males have a blunt genital papilla (a tube that arises from the urogenital opening of some fish), there is little information on them breeding but it has been done, they apparently spawn in caves and the male guards the eggs, but this should be done in a VERY LARGE pond/tank, well over 1000 gallons
Thank you white specter crayfish you are the only one to ever respond to one of my Adonis questions and do you know what length they are sexually mature at?
I agree deadliestviper7 they have been incredible increaseing in popularity in even the past few months, The online fish store that I got my regular Adonis from now has over 50 of them so I’m assuming their getting them from a breeder somewhere in my home state Massachusetts where they are located too. Anyways they keep on getting sold out within a single month because they have like 20 but I think it will take about 2 now b/c they have a bundle pack where you can get 3 for the price of 2 & 1/3 it’s a good deal if you ask me
Actually, a ton of people on this forum own or have owned Adonis plecos. They are fairly common out west...not sure what part of the country you’re in. Go to PlanetCatfish and you can find a ton of info there. Also, there was an old timer here on MFK that was a major pleco enthusiast and bred the Adonis and many other plecos. Don’t know what he is up to lately but he sold all his stock a couple years back. Look up
