I dont get it , i was at a freind of mines house the other day and he has a 90 gallon ,we got talking about water changes and i said i do water changes every week , he laughed and told me he might do one every 2 or 3 months . i was shocked i said this was very WRONG and he should do them every week like me . i said it really only takes 30 min tops he has a python like me water changes are easy . i even said i would help him while we were talking and hanging out ect . SOOOOOOOO he agrees not to easily though but he does , we do water change ect have dinner his wife brought home a movie and they asked me to stay and watch . after the movie me being a smartA** i said lets go look at your clean tank and see how health the fish look . we look and 5 yes 5 are dead . so know he blames me .

why would they be dead after water change ???????????????? i even tested water after we found the dead fish and all peramiters were fine .

makes me look bad .

Who cares how you look that means nothing the fish died, who's fault you'll never know....


How much did you change..?What was the temp goin in vs the temp of tank? They probably went into shock if you changed allot... How much does he change every 3 months?? Many different possiblities..

They could also have already been dying from being poisoned slowly over the time he had them..

But if your worried about looking bad, or good you probably shouldn't use those as your I'm going to help you Motives

we only did a 30 % water change . not to much and i cleaned the bottom a little all that was going up the tube was black guk but i really was not saying i look bad i was try to say it makes us good fish keepers look like we dont know what we are talking about when we try to help the stubern and it back fires on us .

temp going into the tank was the same or very close to it and he does 20 to 30 % water changes when he does it .

ouch. fishes prolly got adjusted to the old tanks bad water parameters and got shocked on cleaner water. anyhoo... not ur fault u were just trying to teach them the better water maintenance. that still sucks tho i know.

yep i was really upset when he said i killed his fish . all i was trying to was teach him a little better care . he knows the tanks i have ( 125g, 135g and 210 g ) so he knows i know what i am talking about but still upset me a little that he thinks that .

Ya Shake it off... Buy some Ammonia spike his conditioner with it and next time he goes to do a waterchange say "SEE I only killed a few ... Or maybe I saved these so you could finish the job with your intimate knowledge of sludge keeping "

Just kidding .. I just let my friends do what they are going to do and when they ask I tell them what i know... And Then I come here and watch you guys start these awesome stubborn people threads

This is the sequel to the one a few months ago.. Though your experience ended in the death of some fish and your friend blamed you ... The last person was MAIMED by someones Drunk mom for doing a water change on her 10 g's of sludge and telling her how big common plecs get LOL She obviously knew that thye ONLY got as big as the tank would hold and the thought that some kid could tell her it would reach lengths longer than the actual tank "exageration" i think .. Was inexcusable Disrespect LOL

The comment about being used to crap water might be correct, if the pH was badly off and the new water was not it could cause pH shock.

Yeah that sucks dude u try to help 1 of your knuckle headed buddies and it back fires in your face and u get a new nick-name or get to here the story told to other people how u are a fish killer sweet huh.What kind of fish where they? and i do think that the good water could have killed them just like guppy said.
