Do it during a water change. take out whatever you can, big net. I catch plecos in my 300 like this. usually takes no kore than 5-10 minutes including pulling the wood.

The less water in the tank the better. Good luck

hey i finally got the pleco (after about a month of trying to get him) on the first try of my new design. I took one of those fishnets that havea plastic support box and but a rock in there on its side near where all the water is flowing (as to catch more stuff) and put some of the things he had been eating in there as well...then i took fishing line an tied it to both sides so that when he climbed in i was able to pull up on the strings and then it trapped the opening on the top of the aquarium! thanks for all the suggestions
