i have a albino oscar of size 7-8 inch but they do a strange behaviour i am not getting what they doing is it before mating or fighting because chiclid tend to have a aggressive spwaning behaviour

they both liplock each other and do as if they are fighting and the one who loses is moved to the corner of tank

In you case I would think "FIGHTING", what tank size are they in? 3ft X 1ft X 1ft? if so thats way to small.

good luck

sounds like a scrap to me...

most people say oscars should be kept on their own or with a group of 3 or more. that way the dominant fish doesnt pick on the same fish all the time, so each fish will take a hit and then be able to 'get over it' while another fish is beat on. essentially the beatings are spread out bewteen the group.

with 2 fish there is a strong one and a weak one. so the weak one is always bullied, and ths can end in the weaker fish dying. you could sit it out, but you may not get the outcome you desire.

id say get a bigger tank... sorry, use the fish as an excuse to get a bigger tank :) or chose which fish you like better and get rid of one...

Sounds like typical cichlid behavior.......
