I ALMOST FORGOT....I know first hand as I was robbed of my hard earned money by a Vendor in Canada know as "JUNGLE BOOGIE". I believe in KARMA and they are no longer in business. So what comes around goes around!

so..because you got screwed over by some ****ty vendor ..it means all are ****ty?
look, i was screwed over by john of eczs on two flower rays.. just because he screwed me over doesnt mean every vendor will.

and WOW..really???? jeff rapps brought in WC ray that was healthy? well..surly if Mr Rapps did it one time then every ray that comes into the usa as WC should damn sight be healthy..

i swear..i read what you guys are saying and you make me laugh....

Oh, really? you have been keeping fish for 22 years? so..that makes you better fish keeper then everyone else?
ok..i have been keeping fish for 28 years....
i started with rays 12 years ago..when there was almost no info on them at all. i started out in fish forums over 12 years ago...FYI..the people that taught you what you know about ray keeping ..50% they learned from me.
so does that make me a better fish keeper then everyone under 28 years? Nope.

honestly i think most of you are assclowns that just bash people for the sake of it.

half of you have no idea what you are talking about and should stop posting due to spreading bad knowledge.

If the buyer likes his rays, price and can nurse them back to health then so be it!
he does! he has said so all over the place and yet you still stir up crap.

again...why doesnt everyone re-read what DB said..you all will learn alot!

I love these threads.....

Let all the experts chime in..... I'm sure everyone in this thread KNOWS exactly what those rays were eating before they were shipped. Just like any other rays they just take to market shrimp immediately after not eating for weeks. It's a myth you have to get them started on blackworms, then to worms then to shrimp, OR maybe it's NOT. Maybe that has already been done?

Obviously you fellas aren't on the import export end very much or you'd know skinny rays are a reality. That's just the way it is. I recently recieved 3 rays from Canada that came in looking worse then those do. Doesn't matter what they look like. If they're eating they'll get better.

The buyer stated he knew what he was getting into, just part of the hobby when you buy fresh WC.

The problem is everyone wants to pay a couple bucks over import price for a ray that's been nursed back to health, but fail to understand the time and money involved in getting them better. Everyone wants rays for cheap, so they should be prepared to do some work themselves.

If you want to blame someone maybe the blame should be placed down south.... There's a saying about not hating the player but rather the game. Importing WC rays seems to be the game in this case, and everyone that has them is a player.

Most people on this board have proven there is no way to please all the little "cliques" here. Some like to buy rays from one person and that person's screwed 27 people while 27 others had great experiences. We've already PROVEN that there is NO vendor out there we can't turn away and run off. Everyone is quick to drag other people's name through the mud, but in reality these are the people making this hobby possible for us. Maybe we shouldn't be so quick to judge till we all start importing ourselves and get to lay eyes on what gets sent up here first hand. Most eyes here have no idea cause the importers quickly begin what they do every day, damage control. I've been on this board for years and watch every one that sell rays get cut down, bad talked, bannished, and yet somehow we're all able to continue to find rays to buy. I think we're pretty lucky in that regard.

We've all seen the nice rare fish available everywhere but the US in another thread on here. Americans as a whole are cheap when it comes to fish in comparison to the other countries. Don't you think that would be directly reflected in the quality and health of the fish our country recieves?

There's 2 sides to every story but that's irrelevant here. People here know the story by looking at a picture. Just another reason I am so reluctant to post any pics. I've had rays since the beginning of the year that I'd love to show off but guess what? They werea victim in this game of exportation. Still after 2 months I don't consider them to be the same "healthy" we all take for granted everyday. If people here were actually capable of being opened minded I would have posted pics but they aren't. I'm nothing but greatfull that the guy I got my skinny emaciated rays from went through all the trouble to ship them to me and they arrived alive. I could care less if they're skinnny for the next year, I don't care. I knew what I was buying and am happy I bought them. If the original poster in this thread feels the same then everyone needs to just back up, think for a minute and maybe keep thier thoughts to themselves. Why? Cause this guy is jazzed about his new rays and you all are gonna "F" that up for him. Let the guy be a happy hobbyist and kick back and wait for updates, and be thankfull some people here still have the balls to post pictures for you all to judge.

Just my .02.... I used to be one quick to judge, but after seeing stuff 1st hand my opinion changed.

in case all you ray experts missed this.

you dont have to be..i am embarrassed for you..i like how you slam a ray seller when you have no clue and then self promote yourself...very classy.
why dont you re-read what DB wrote. you might learn something...

Hey just speakin my opinion, thats what this site is for

I read everything DB wrote... I dont care what the circumstances are it all just bla bla bla in my ears. We all know that those rays were in shawns ponds so there is NO excuse in the world that anyone could give me to justify hip bones and dents in their forheads

Im very happy that the rays are doing good, but this would be a whole different story if they werent...

Sorry for the derail Ray5. I have a passion for animals and get pretty angry when i see them neglected. There are no excuses in my book

well update is rays are eating and very active Shawn called me cause he was very concerned with the rays and we are keeping each other updated on their progress he is indeed a stand up guy and im sure he will do what ever to make it right if need be.

if he was really concerned about the rays, he wont be shipping it out in conditions like that

My experience with Shawn and what I have heard from his rep is nothing but bad..... You don't get kicked off of sites for no reason, that speaks for it self... Like selling a car knowing it has a bad motor about to blow and yet you don mention it to the 16 year old kid buying his first car and yet you still take the money? Nice...... This site is not about bashing trashing or ragging on anyone but when we are all fellow ray lovers to see Rays in this condition is wrong!!!! And when all fingers"Facts" point to one person I'm willing to bet all are pointing I the right direction!!!! It is very easy to sit back and shoot your mouth off from a computer of phone.... So let's all agree to disagree and do everything we can to get these rays healthy!!!

Wow I hope all works out for you and those rays bro... They have potential I they pull through.... My experience is just to stretch there bellys... I found ghost shrimp is the best way just to get something into there system" ghost shrimp are not nutritional at all but that is not the goal... The goal is to get them eating again "stretch" there bellys a but then start sneaking in chopped night crawlers... Once you've accomplished this start feeding and feedin and feeding them ;) then they will be fat bubble butts in no time!!! :)

"Vamptrev" ^^^^ is 100% right!!!

fact is fact and these poor rays ended up like this from very poor and cruel "Vick" like treatment!

Yes the dog killer ^^ in my opinion someone that can starve it torture animals just for a buck or a good time is a usless bum

Good luck with the rays bud I hope it all work out for you!!! I'm sure there are hundreds of knowledgable people on here that will do anything to help ;)

Lol this should be your sig so people should know to thank you lol

you are welcome.
btw...see the picture of my avitar...this was the third known hand feeding picture on the internet at the time..i own #'s 2 & 3.
they were my leo's.....i taught everyone at the time how to do it and yes..that is just a little bit that trickled down...way before you were ever around.
i didnt have the luxury of reading how to keep stingrys and go off of other peoples trials and errors..
i did it on my own...at a great deal on money.
but..to your ray greatness i guess this is meaningless... go away.

vamp,
hey look, i hate seeing a skinny ray as much as the next guy. what i am saying is that this happens...deal with it.
the buyer knew what he was getting..hell, he might have even asked for them because they might have been cheaper.
we dont know because its none of our business.
This thread has been derailed to the point of disgust.

i mean seriously...this is suppose to be the best fish forum online and this is the replys he gets?
un-real.

do you still have the pictures of the rays he showed you before you made the purchase? i'm curious to see what those look like.
