Just curious why the love for them over bd? Different personality?

They have similar personalities but I really like the way their spots differ from BDs, some have a really cool almost a greenish-black base color, they have awesome belly patterns, and maybe I like the fact they're far less common than BDs nowadays.

I've been raising these guys up for the past year or so, definitely one of my favorite species. At this point I think I like a nice Hen even over a BD!
Originally wild caught a few years ago, they're probably at the 14-15" mark and I'm patiently waiting for a chance to reproduce them!
Please excuse the dirty water in the last picture, I took that after they had been in the tubs for 20 minutes... they're pigs.

Oh I really like seeing others with the pure hens. I wish you lots of luck on breeding them. It’s a great accomplishment with the rays who aren’t being bred in mass amounts and that require more time than others to be mature as well as the long gestation time. Mine are now breeding repetitively after many years! 1st pic is F1 male with king spotting from 2015, 2nd is daddy, 3rd is F1 female pup from this year, 4th is big momma!
