hepsetus odoe tank size?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
also i think that the stock could be a bunch of bichirs and a south american lungfish and a lima shovelnose catfish how does this sound?

i heard lungfish are mean. catfish get huge and are dirty. few birchirs would be ok as they'd stay out of the odoe's way.

those are pretty broad statements, the Lima will stay at a manageable size and SA lungs are fine in community

A Lima will be just fine in this tank. A lot of bichirs will be fine too. My Odoe and Bichirs ignore each other. I don't know anything about Lungfish.

The South Am. lungs are fine with everything.

well then I think my stock will be a bunch of bichirs 1 sa lung 1 Lima and 4 odoe

Do whatever you want.... It's a free country. It's a hell of alot easier to say whatever then to concvince you otherwise when you have clearly allready made up your mind.....

I enjoy having peace of mind knowing that my fish have plenty of room and in turn the larger volume of water also makes it so I only half to do half as many WCs as someone who's got a tank half the size.... Plus I get the luxury of adding more fish if I want.

I'm not about to get into another pissing match about the max size of Odoes. I'll be more then happy to measure mine when they die..... And if the "myth" holds true my Odoes will be 10-12 inches.

4 footlong odoes, a 12-18 inch Lima, and a bunch of Bichirs IS one hell of a bio load. Might wanna keep that in mind before you get stuck doing daily waterchanges to keep the water decent.

i understand the bio load issues but i feel that if i stock them small i will have time to upgrade filters i will probablly be doing this near christmas, and then by the summer i will be able to upgrade to another fx5 or even a sump i feel that as the fish grow the filters will grow with them
and also i am not going to lie i dont keep fish to make them happy, i keep them to make me happy, and if the fish have enough room to turn around and stretch out i think they will be fine, they could be in a lot worse setups and i agree from seeing pix of yours i think 14"+ notice i said i planned on them being 14" above
