Herbert R. Axelrod, respected hobbyist and...living irony?

I believe we all have the utmost respect for Dr. Axelrod and can appreciate his contributions to our hobby. But did anyone notice that he is now living the life of a fish? He bit off more than he could chew, had his voice removed and is confined to a cell! It's sad, and I by no means want to make light of his situation, but the parallels are certainly astounding! Can you think of any other people who have had the tides turn on them in ironic ways? Any other Axelrod parallels?

Many people that are respected end up on the wrong side of the law, you ever hear of Bernie Madoff, hundred times richer than Axelrod and was a million times more more powerful.

IMO Axelrod was the single biggest contributor to the hobby.
Martha Stewart would be another example of celebrity to find themselves on the wrong side the law
