IMO Axelrod was the single biggest contributor to the hobby.
Martha Stewart would be another example of celebrity to find themselves on the wrong side the law

And Gary Busey.

And OJ Simpson.

Sigh, there goes MJ then.

Fine, Winona Ryder.

It appears some do not appreciate the irony, and some are happy enough to be familiar with his life story alone. My point here is that Dr. Axelrod, among the most active fish hunters of all time, now lives the life of a fish. That is irony. OJ Simpson wasn't ironic. His crime had little in common with football. Martha Stewart wasn't ironic. If she had been sentenced to a term of being forced to make doilies and organize parties, that would have been irony. I can't find much info on Busey, but he appears to be a rather eccentric character and I recognize his face for sure. Did he suffer any tragic ironies? Anyway, I hope Dr. Axelrod is doing okay in his captive life. I hope they cycled his cell before putting him in there.

It appears some do not appreciate humor. =(

Oh, well. Hey, did he finish serving his time? I've been googling for an hour and all I can find is that he was caught in Berlin in 2005 and sentenced to 18 months. But I don't know if he has completed his term because we don't know when he started it! If he's still behind bars, we should post an MFK gratitude thread for him and print it up, maybe mailing it to him if all goes well and we can find him. What do you think?
