Herbie Overflows and Fluval Bulkheads??

okie doke, I ordered that cheap pump above so we shall see.

Your 190g Discus tank has been my inspiration for the sump layout, turnover rate, filter sock choice etc.

well I got my sump container under and experimented there will be plenty of space for water should the pump stop working.

I also trial ran everything using my Fluval 405 and there was no vortex, but we will see when I have 3x the volume!!
 
I will extend the pipe so that it goes right to the top, I will then drill holes into the pipe rather than add the Fluval strainer.

What size holes should they be? 5mm?

What is best method of returning water to the tank? I have the choice of an Eheim Spray Bar , Fluval twin outlet, or should I just let it flow straight out of a standard hose the other end of the tank?
