I like the combo of clove and alkazeltser(sp) clove puts them sleepy time so its first, then drop in a few of the seltzer, it displaces the oxygen in the water and death pretty quick. Other than that blunt force trauma behind the head enof to separate the skull from the spine. brutal but effective.
Thank you so much. Just have to figure out proper amounts if I can fit him in a 5 gallon bucket when he is weaker & I am stronger. Really, thank you. I may have to write it down for someone else cuz as you probably know - hospitals just stabilize you - so now I spend all day trying for appointments. . . .

Fish intelligence. Some fish (mine) are really really smart but as a human I was limited in ability to understand. He was an instant and very accurate judge of humans who visited. Every time I was ready to end his suffering - he knew and he fought. He would get up and swim around the tank and take a position. This is the position that he took yesterday.

Today he is gone. His way. Not scientific. Just anecdote. But there's no question that he had a direct link to my brain.

I am truly sorry for your loss. But at the same time I am glad he was able to touch you the way he seems to have.

Thx. We want another but ethically - health issues making us unreliable - it's just wrong. (My husband - big tough guy - has tears - plus too weird - Charlie waited till the day after his 77th birthday to go.) Just posted tank on Craigslist but I can see stuff just isn't moving. Trying to learn other ways to sell. Tips graciously accepted.

He loved his companion I made for him.

When we brought his tank into the house we passed my 10 inch orange goldfish and he sent such amorous vibrationso to her that in the middle of the night she left her husband and figured a way out of the tank - trying to join Charlie. My rule is that the critters have to get along or they have to go. But I couldn't fault him for it.
